POMONA, Calif. – No. 17 ranked Cal Poly Pomona volleyball continued its strong start to the 2026 season Saturday afternoon, sweeping Menlo, 3-0 (25-12, 25-16, 25-15), at Kellogg Arena in the first-ever meeting between the two programs. The win also marked the seventh sweep of the season for CPP in just their first nine matches.
 
The Broncos (8-1, 2-0 CCAA) controlled the match from the opening set, using a 5-0 run to turn a 1-1 tie into a 6-1 advantage. Cal Poly Pomona continued to build its lead behind a pair of kills from Elle Walker and strong play at the net from Addi Knight and Charlotte Koerber. A five-point stretch from 10-5 to 16-5, highlighted by two service aces from Rachel Mau and a kill from Knight, put the opening set firmly in CPP's control.
 
Walker led the Broncos offensively with 10 kills on 21 attacks while hitting .476. Koerber added seven kills while hitting .389, and Knight recorded five kills on 11 attacks with a .455 hitting percentage. Sarah Ybarra contributed eight kills, while Alexia Athans added six kills.
 
The Broncos carried their momentum into the second set, opening with a 5-1 lead before extending the margin to 10-2. Ybarra sparked the early run with two kills, an attack error forced by the CPP defense, and a service ace. Menlo briefly trimmed the deficit to 14-8, but CPP answered to move ahead 19-11 and never allowed the Oaks to threaten again.
 
CPP put the match away with another strong start in the third set. Alexia Zammit delivered back-to-back service aces during a 4-0 run that gave the Broncos a 9-4 advantage. Zammit finished the match with 31 assists, her second consecutive game reaching that total. CPP maintained a five- to eight-point cushion throughout the remainder of the set before closing out the sweep, 25-15.

The Broncos will head on the road next weekend for matches at San Francisco State and Cal State East Bay starting on Friday, September 18^th, in San Francisco.
