No. 2 Broncos Extend Unbeaten Start With Scoreless Tie Against Cal State Monterey Bay

POMONA, Calif. - Cal Poly Pomona women's soccer remained unbeaten after playing Cal State Monterey Bay to a scoreless tie. The No.2 Broncos moved to 5-0-4 overall and 2-0-2 in CCAA play.

CPP controlled the attack, outshooting the Otters 21-6 and placing eight attempts on goal. The Broncos generated 12 shots in the opening half while limiting Cal State Monterey Bay to two, neither of which reached the target.

Carly Radke produced CPP's first scoring opportunity in the 11th minute, forcing a save. Maddy Tjon, Morgan Huff and Tristan Tessier also placed first-half attempts on frame, but the match remained scoreless at halftime.

The Broncos maintained their pressure after the break. Allison Bravo tested the goalkeeper less than a minute into the second half, followed by shots on target from Kailey Powers and Georgia Rink. Powers forced another save in the 68th minute, giving her a team-high two shots on goal.

Radke led CPP with five attempts, while Powers added four and Huff recorded three. Bravo contributed two shots, including one on target. Eight different Broncos placed at least one attempt on frame as CPP created opportunities across its lineup.

Defensively, the Broncos surrendered only one shot on goal. Parker LaMont stopped that attempt in the 56th minute and played 90 minutes to record her fifth shutout of the season. CPP also earned three corner kicks.

The result extended the Broncos' unbeaten start to nine matches and marked their second consecutive shutout in conference play.
