POMONA, Calif. - Cal Poly Pomona volleyball delivered its most efficient offensive performance of the young season Friday, hitting .422 in a 25-22, 25-19, 25-17 sweep of Western Washington at Kellogg Arena.

The Broncos improved to 5-1 after totaling 50 kills against just 12 errors across 90 attacks.
Sarah Ybarra led the offense with 16 kills on a .500 hitting percentage, adding nine digs, four assists, two aces and two block assists.
Elle Walker recorded 15 kills while hitting .400, and
Charlotte Koerber finished with 13 kills, eight digs and a .400 clip.

CPP trailed 12-8 in the opening set before taking control with an 8-1 run. Ybarra supplied three kills during the surge, while
Addi Knight contributed a solo block as the Broncos moved ahead 16-13. Western Washington later pulled within 22-21, but Ybarra answered with two of CPP's final three points, including the set-clinching kill.

The Broncos established separation much earlier in the second frame. Leading 5-3, CPP used a 7-2 run featuring three Walker kills, a Koerber ace and a block by Lexi Zammit and
Alexia Athans to build a 12-5 advantage. Western Washington fought off three set points to narrow the margin to 23-19 before Walker closed the 25-19 victory with her fifth kill of the set.

CPP broke open the third set with another decisive run. The Broncos scored eight of nine points to turn an 8-7 edge into a 16-8 lead, receiving three kills from Walker along with two Koerber kills and consecutive blocks by Knight and Ybarra. Walker later delivered match point before teaming with
Hadassah Makama on the match-ending block.

Zammit directed the offense with 34 assists and added seven digs. Libero
Renee Nachtigall totaled a team-high 11 digs and eight assists, while Knight contributed four blocks. CPP held Western Washington to a .157 hitting percentage.
