POMONA, Calif. -
Sarah Ybarra delivered a match-high 19 kills as Cal Poly Pomona earned a four-set victory over No. 19 ranked Simon Fraser on Saturday at Kellogg Arena. The Broncos won by scores of 25-20, 23-25, 25-22 and 25-20 to improve to 6-1 on the season and complete a perfect 3-0 weekend at the Bronco Classic.

Ybarra hit .333 and added eight digs, two service aces and two block assists for a match-best 22 points.
Elle Walker contributed 15 kills on .333 hitting, while
Charlotte Koerber finished with 11 kills and
Alexia Athans recorded 10 kills on a .444 attack percentage.
Alexia Zammit directed the offense with 42 assists as CPP hit .295 as a team for the match.

Following the game, both Ybarra and Zammit were named to the Bronco Classic All-Tournament Team.

The Broncos created separation in the opening set with a 6-1 run that turned a 10-8 advantage into a 15-9 lead.
Renee Nachtigall served an ace during the stretch, while Koerber and Athans combined for a block. CPP later scored four consecutive points to build a 23-18 cushion before closing out the set, 25-20.

A back-and-forth second frame featured 17 ties and 10 lead changes. CPP held a 23-22 edge following an ace from Ybarra, but Simon Fraser responded with the final three points to even the match.

The Red Leafs carried their momentum into the third set and built leads of 7-1 and 11-4. CPP steadily battled back, eventually pulling even at 12-12 on back-to-back attack errors from the Red Leafs. Koerber later recorded an ace and Athans added a kill to complete a 4-0 run that put the Broncos ahead for good. Ybarra totaled eight kills in the set as CPP hit .364.

CPP erased an early 6-2 deficit in the fourth with an 8-2 run, taking a 10-8 lead on an ace from
Rachel Mau. The Broncos later used another 8-2 run to extend their advantage to 22-14, and Ybarra sealed the victory with her 19th kill.
