Broncos Set to Host Wildcats and Warriors


POMONA, Calif. - To kick off 2015, the Cal Poly Pomona men's basketball team will host the Wildcats of Chico State as the second game of a doubleheader on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
 
The Broncos have amassed a 7-2 record thus far on the season, complete with a 3-1 mark in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA).
 
Chico also holds a 3-1 conference tally, while recording a 6-3 overall mark thus far on the year.
 
While CPP has featured a large number of standout performances this season, senior Terrence Drisdom leads the Broncos in most offensive and defensive categories. Heading into Friday's contest, the Corona native has an average of 16.1 points per game. 
 
Junior Jordan Faison is right on Drisdom's tail in all of the categories while claiming the No. 1 spot himself on a few. Faison earns 15.1 points per game while carrying a 54.6 shooting percentage from the field.
 
Senior Daniel Rodriguez has proven to be the most efficient Bronco from the field, owning a 56.9 percentage, and seeing the third-highest point tally for CPP.
 
Barry Bell has dished out the most assists for the Broncos, with 34 to his name. He also leads CPP in steals with 22 in the nine contests thus far.
 
Looking at the lineup for Chico, the Wildcats' Robert Duncan and Jordan Semple lead the way offensively, both earning at least 14 points per game.
 
After Friday's matchup, CPP will play host to Cal State Stanislaus on Saturday at 7:30 as the second game of that doubleheader.
 
The Warriors have secured an identical 6-3, 3-1 CCAA tally as the Wildcats. They will be traveling first to RIMAC Arena on Friday to play the UC San Diego Tritons.
