By: Aaron Salazar

POMONA, Calif.-
The Cal Poly Pomona volleyball team will continue their three-game road trip in Chico on Friday at 7p.m. with a conference match-up against the Chico State Wildcats.

The Broncos come into the contest tied for second in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) with a record of 6-2. They are 10-6 overall.

The third-place Wildcats come into the game with an overall record of 14-5. They are 6-3 in conference play.

This will be the only match that the two teams will play this year.

Last year, the teams split their two game series with each team winning on the opponent's home court. The Green and Gold defeated the Wildcats 3-2 in Chico, while the Wildcats defeated the Broncos 3-2 at Kellogg Arena.

After the game in Chico, CPP will head to Turlock to challenge Stanislaus State in another conference match on Saturday at 7p.m.

Currently, the Warriors have an overall record of 10-5 with a 4-5 CCAA record.

Over the past two seasons, the Broncos have defeated the Warriors four-consecutive times. Over the course of the four matches, the Green and Gold have only lost one set to the Warriors.

On Tuesday, senior libero Zoe Herrera moved into second place on the career digs list at CPP with a total of 1,366 surpassing the 1,362 mark set by Kelly Bonja between the 2009-12 seasons. Herrera, who is averaging 4.9 digs per set, needs 152 more to set the new career digs record at CPP.

The Broncos will return to Kellogg Arena on Oct. 15 to take on the nationally ranked Cal State San Bernardino Coyotes at 7p.m. The game marks the annual "Make-A-Wish" night hosted by the Broncos.
