POMONA, Calif. – Continuing a four-match homestand, the Cal Poly Pomona volleyball team will host a pair of contests this weekend at Kellogg Arena.
On Friday, the Broncos will challenge UC San Diego and the first 75 students will receive a free mini USB phone charger courtesy of Parking & Transportation Services. Then on Saturday, CPP hosts Cal State San Marcos. Both matches will start at 7 p.m.
To start the string of four-consecutive home matches, the Broncos defeated Cal State Dominguez Hills 3-2 last Friday. Sophomore
Andrea Bosnic, a Los Angeles native, tallied a career-high 19 kills in that contest. She continued the stellar play on Saturday with 16 kills and a .324 hitting percentage against Cal State L.A.
Also starring for the Broncos this past week was senior
Alina Smith. The Cypress native collected a career-high 50 assists in the five-set win over the Toros and then contributed another 34 assists on Saturday. Smith has moved up to No. 8 on the CCAA leaderboard with 7.48 assists per set.
At 5-15 overall and 1-10 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA), CPP will look to finish the regular season on a high note. Six matches are left to play and four of those will take place at Kellogg Arena.
Samantha Figueroa continues to rank at No. 1 in the conference for digs per set as she holds a mark of 5.14. In Friday's home victory over Dominguez Hills, Figueroa was one of four Broncos to tally double-digit digs. Junior
Deanna Blaine led the way with 21 digs.

Desi Martin have starred in the blocking category, holding the No. 8 and No. 9 spots on the CCAA blocks leaderboard.
