@cppwsoccer Plays to 0-0 Draw with SF State

POMONA, Calif. – The Cal Poly Pomona women's soccer team battled to a 0-0 draw on Friday against the first-place San Francisco State Gators.

The Broncos kept the pressure up throughout the match, outshooting SFSU 13-10. Neither team could find the back of the net though.

CPP's marks settle at 2-3-3 overall and 1-1-2 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). The Gators are now 5-1-2 overall and 2-0-1 through league play.

Daisy Duran generated a few chances for the Broncos as she totaled a team-high five shots. At the 32:59 mark in the first half, a strong header from Lauren Miller gave CPP an opportunity but the attempt was saved by Gators' goalkeeper Christina Holguin.

Late in the second half, CPP netminder Ricki Ives delivered a save on a shot by SFSU's Kimber Lohman. The game progressed into overtime but the scoring chances diminished. The squads combined for only three shots in the final 20 minutes of play.
Ives finished with five saves on Friday and the result marked CPP's second shutout of the season.

The Broncos will return to action on Sunday with a 2 p.m. home match against Cal State Monterey Bay. The first 100 CPP students arriving to the 11:30 a.m. doubleheader will receive a free tumbler courtesy of University Housing Services.
