POMONA, Calif. – The Cal Poly Pomona volleyball team will travel to Northern California this weekend as the Broncos take on Chico State and Stanislaus State.
On Friday night, CPP will take on the Wildcats in Chico. Then on Saturday, the Broncos travel to play the Turlock. Both matches will begin at 7 p.m. So far in 2016, CPP owns an overall record of 4-8.
After a loss at Cal State Dominguez Hills on Saturday in their most recent match of the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) regular season schedule, the Broncos will look to secure its first conference win this Friday. So far in league play, Chico and Stanislaus own identical 2-1 records.
Samantha Figueroa and
Alexandra Gresham have put together plenty of impressive performances this season.
Figueroa, a junior from South Pasadena, leads the conference in digs with an average of 5.18 per set and collected a season high of 29 in a match against BYU Hawaii. Gresham contributed a 14-kill effort against Cal State Dominguez Hills last week in addition to being in the top 10 in the conference as she has tallied a blocking average with .87.
As a team, CPP has totaled 48 service aces. Leading the way are

Andrea Bosnic with nine.
Midway through a four-match road stretch, the Broncos won't be home until Saturday, Oct. 8 when they challenge Cal State San Bernardino at 7 p.m. in Kellogg Arena. Then on Oct. 21, the Broncos will take on Cal State Dominguez Hills with the first 100 CPP students receiving a free tumbler courtesy of University Housing Services.
