POMONA, Calif. – California Collegiate Athletic Association play begins this week as the Cal Poly Pomona baseball team preps for a four-game series against Cal State Dominguez Hills beginning on the road Thursday and ending with a double-header at Scolinos Field on Saturday.
Last Week: Despite the weather, the Broncos finished a three-game series against Cal State Monterey Bay, winning game one before dropping the final two games.
Jeff Bain threw six innings for the Broncos in game one, allowing only three hits with nine strikeouts.
Quick Hits: Bain has pitched a team high 17 innings in three appearances on the mound, racking up 19 strikeouts while allowing only 10 hits.

Henry Omana has registered 17 strikeouts and
Peter Beattie has given up one hit in 5 1/3 innings with two wins.
At the plate, freshman
Brennan McKenzie has had a great start to his college career, batting .414 through nine games, tallying 12 hits and nine RBIs.
Cody Martin and
Chris Stratton lead the Broncos with 15 hits each. Martin has earned a team high 10 RBIs while Stratton has seven RBIs, 11 runs and five stolen bases.
