Baseball Travels for First Road Games of 2018

POMONA The Cal Poly Pomona baseball team heads out for their first road contests of the season as they travel to face Concordia University, Irvine in a two game series on Thursday and Friday.

Last Week: The Broncos (2-2) split their series opener to the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, winning the first two games and losing the last two. Austin Isenhart pitched six innings striking out six batters and allowed one hit while on his way to pick up his first win of the season. Nic Hernandez performed the best from the plate during the series as he went 9-for-14 collecting three doubles and three RBIs.
 
Eagle Report: Concordia enters the series with a 2-6 overall record while losing their last three games. As a team, the Eagles are batting .252 this through their first eight games while tallying 37 runs with 20 extra base hits. From the mound, Concordia's ERA sits at 6.13 as the pitching staff has given up 47 earned runs so far, allowing a batting average of .317. Concordia took both games last year against the Broncos, winning 5-3 and 5-4.
