POMONA – The Cal Poly Pomona baseball team found hit their offensive stride on Saturday, sweeping a doubleheader against Cal State San Bernardino at Scolinos Field to go up 3-0 in the series.

GAME ONE:
GAME SUMMARY:
- After falling behind 2-0 in the top of the second inning, the Broncos answered back in the bottom half of the inning, scoring four runs. Bryce Graddy reached on a fielder's choice, scoring Bryce Etchandy. Cody Martin tallied a two-RBI double before coming around to score after a single to right field by Cesar Lopez.
- CPP took a 5-2 advantage in the third as Matt Manskar laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring Nic Hernandez.
- The Coyotes stormed back in the fourth inning, scoring three runs starting with a two-RBI single with two outs on the board. CSUSB scored the tying run off another single before the Broncos recorded the final out.
- CPP gained the lead right back, scoring in the bottom of the inning off a right field single by Hernandez. The Broncos tallied another run in the fifth as Jacob Bernardy doubled to give CPP a 7-5 advantage.
- Graddy capped off game one with a two-run homer, his first of the season, as the Broncos took game two of the series 9-5.
KEY PERFORMERS:
- Tim Holdgrafer picked up his first win of the season, entering the game with the score 5-5, pitching four 1/3 scoreless innings with four hits and four strikeouts.
- Austin Isenhart started on the mound for CPP, giving up five runs with five strikeouts in three 2/3 innings of work.
- At the plate, Martin and Graddy each finished with two hit games while Graddy tallied two RBIs and Martin finished with two as well.
GAME TWO:
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The second game of the day continued to see offensive surges from the Broncos as they scored in each of the first three innings.
- Hernandez hit a double, scoring McKenzie for the opening run of the game before Bernardy reached on an error in the second inning to go up 2-0. Hernandez hit a single in the third inning before a sacrifice fly by Manskar gave CPP a 4-0 advantage.
- CPP extended their lead in the fifth inning, tallying four more runs starting with another RBI single by Hernandez. Graddy followed up with a two-RBI double before Martin closed out the scoring with a single to left field.
- CSUSB's only run of the game came in the seventh inning as a runner reached safely on a throwing error from the short stop, allowing a run to come in.
KEY PERFORMERS:
- In one of his best performances of the season, Dylan Francis earned his second win of the season as he tossed five scoreless innings, giving up only four hits while striking out seven total.
- Darin May and Anthony Mizrahi pitched one relief inning each as May struck out all three batters he faced, and Mizrahi gave up one run off one hit.
- Hernandez and Cowley each tallied three hits as Hernandez finished with three RBIs and Graddy earned two.
