POMONA – The Cal Poly Pomona baseball team finished with a series split against Cal State Monterey Bay, losing the final game 6-4 on Sunday afternoon at Scolinos Field.

GAME SUMMARY:
- After Monterey Bay jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the second inning, the Broncos answered back in the bottom half of the inning, scoring four runs to go up 4-2.
- Jacob Bernardy reached on a fielder's chase while Bryce Graddy scored on a throwing error by third base. Matt Manskar launched a shot through the middle, scoring two runs before a sacrifice fly by Nic Hernandez.
- In the third inning, the Otters loaded the bases, eventually scoring two runs to tie the game at 4-4.
- Monterey Bay regained the lead in the fifth inning, scoring one run off a double down the left field line.
- The Otters added an insurance run in the seventh inning, once again hitting a ball through the middle gap, scoring their final run of the contest.
KEY PERFORMERS:
- Austin Isenhart started on the mound for CPP, tossing five innings with five earned runs off of eight hits while three walks and two strikeouts.
- Peter Beattie threw 1 2/3 innings with four hits and one run while Brian Conley through 1 1/3 innings with no hits and two strikeouts and Michael Gomez threw one inning with no hits and two strikeouts.
- Cesar Lopez, Alex Kline and Graddy each finished with two hits while Manskar led with two RBIs and Hernandez and Bernardy each recorded one RBI.

The Broncos will travel next weekend as they head north to Stanislaus State for a four-game series beginning Friday, April 20.
