POMONA – In a game that saw little offense from either team, the Cal Poly Pomona baseball team dropped the first game of their series against Cal State East Bay, falling to the Pioneers 1-0 on the road on Saturday evening.

GAME SUMMARY:
- The Pioneers scored their would be winning run in the opening inning of play, managing a single on a full count with two outs, scoring the man from second base to go up 1-0 for the only run in the game.
- CPP tallied two hits and a walk to load the bases with two outs in the third inning but couldn't bring in any runs as East Bay recorded the third out on a strikeout.
- The Broncos found another chance to score in the eighth inning, with a man on first and third and two outs before a strikeout once again ended the inning.
- After singles by Bryce Graddy and Cody Martin, East Bay collected a groundball out to close out the night.
KEY PERFORMERS:
- Graddy finished with a team high three hits while Cesar Lopez and Drew Cowley each collected two hits in the contest.
- Ryan Alsworth takes the loss for the Broncos despite an excellent outing to move to 5-3 overall on the year. Tossing six innings, Alsworth gave up one run on seven hits with a strikeout and two walks.
- Pitching two innings of relief was Peter Beattie, who gave up zero runs with three hits and two strikeouts.
