OFFICIAL RESULTS
SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Anahi Betart sliced 23 seconds off her personal record for a six-kilometer race, crossing the line at 22:11.1 for a 39th place finish out of 251 runners, pacing the Cal Poly Pomona women's cross country team to 13th place out of 26 teams at the Capital Cross Challenge hosted by Sacramento State in Sacramento.
Elizabeth Hernandez took 66th place with a time of 22:47.9, followed by
Luz Garcia who clocked a 23:02.3 and 87th place,
Sierra Boyd came in 102nd with a time of 23:14.3 and
Kate Manzke finished in 149th at 23:54.7.
As a team, the Broncos scored a 367, defeating six NCAA Division I programs with their 13th place mark. UC Davis took home the team title with a score of 76, followed by Loyola Marymount (91) and Grand Canyon (95), the top three scoring teams in the race.
Cal Poly Pomona will return to the course in three weeks on Oct. 20 when it travels to Evansville, Ind. for the Festival Year Fiasco, hosted by the University of Southern Indiana.
