POMONA – Cal Poly Pomona head track and field coach
Chris Bradford has announced the hiring of
Frederica Bush as an assistant coach – throws, for the 2023 season.
Bush joins the Broncos after spending the last seven years as a throws coach at Roosevelt High School in Eastvale.

Chris Bradford. "Her passion, excitement and enthusiasm is contagious and immediately jumped out to us in the interview process. I know the present and future Broncos will are going to be thrilled to be around that energy. She brings something special to our program and will help make us better.
Before her stint at Roosevelt, she spent 15 years as a throws coach for Division I University of California Riverside.
"Cal Poly Pomona has always been on the top of my list for where I wanted to coach," said coach Federica Bush. "I am from La Verne and it was the local college when I was growing up."
Bush was the NCAA Division II Champion in the shot put event in 1992 and held the record for eight years. She also tried out for the Olympics in 1992 and 1996.
She is a graduate of Cal State Bakersfield where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication and Journalism. She went on to earn her Master of Arts in Education from Claremont Graduate University.
