CCAA OFFICIAL RELEASE

POMONA – The Cal Poly Pomona junior Shona Christensen was selected Field Athlete of the Week as announced by the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Tuesday.
 
At the Ben Brown Invite/AstroAI Distance Classic held in Fullerton, Christensen threw 12.13 meters in the shot put. She now leads all CCAA competition in the event and is tied for 14^th in the NCAA Div. II outdoor track and field performance list.
 
So far into the season, Christensen has improved on two personal bests. At the Beach Opener held in Long Beach, she threw 33.44 meters in the discus throw and in the hammer throw she reached a distance of 33.54 meters.
 
The Broncos next meet is on Saturday, March 25^th at the Cougar Invite hosted by Cal State San Marcos.
