Undefeated Soccer Hosts "Think Pink" Game

POMONA, Calif. – With the latest polls placing the Cal Poly Pomona men's soccer team in its program best No. 10 national ranking, the Broncos move on to defend Kellogg Field against Cal State East Bay. The match is set to start at 12:30 p.m. on Friday.
 
After CPP's wins last week against Chico and Cal State Dominguez Hills, the Broncos have registered an overall record of 9-0-1 which comprises a perfect 4-0 in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play.
 
CSUEB enters the matchup with a 3-4-3 overall record and a 0-2-2 tally in conference. The Pioneers are coming off of two ties last week as they ended up even with Sonoma and Cal State Monterey Bay at the end of double overtime.
 
In the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) poll, the Broncos are No. 2 in the West Region, trailing only Seattle Pacific, who has also registered an undefeated record on the season.
 
CPP currently leads all NCAA Division II teams in a number of categories.
 
 Junior goalie Fernando Pablo Quevedo occupies the top stop in both goals against average, with a 0.216 and save percentage with a 0.933. He has recorded 32 saves on the season and has only allowed the opposition to find the back of the net two times in the 10 games. He has also recorded eight shutouts so far in 2014.
 
Senior midfielder Daniel Garcia Jr. leads all D-II schools in total assists with eight and assists per game.
 
Christian Gonzalez Diaz leads the Broncos with seven goals on the season, while also accumulating a 0.619 shot on goal percentage.
 
The Pioneers have five players who are tied with two goals, and three with one each. East Bay's goalie has 33 saves, which is good for a 0.702 save percentage.

On Sunday, the Broncos will take on the Warriors of Cal State Stanislaus, kickoff is set for 11:30 a.m.
