Steven Farnworth turned in another strong performance, tossing eight shutout innings while allowing five hits and zero walks. Through the month of April, he's completed 23.1 innings without giving up an earned run. Farnworth, a two-time conference Pitcher of the Week, is now 5-2 this season.
The Broncos improved their records to 27-10 overall and 20-9 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). In fourth place in the

Chris Carlson and
Bo Walter each tallied three hits.
The game remained close until the later innings, when the Broncos turned a narrow 2-0 lead into a 10-0 rout with eight runs in the sixth and seventh frames. In a five-run rally during the seventh inning, senior
Trevor Magno delivered a two-run double with two outs before senior
David Armendariz posted two RBI with a sharp single.
CPP took advantage of two Warrior errors early in the game and the host squad also effectively manufactured runs with sacrifice fly outs from
Joseph Eusebio and
Nick Cooksey.
Freshman righthander
Michael Koval entered the game in the ninth and recorded the final three outs to wrap up the 10-0 win.
In other action around the CCAA on Thursday, Sonoma State defeated Cal State Monterey Bay 3-1 while Chico State topped Cal State San Bernardino 6-1.
