With Series Tied 1-1, Rain Suspends Game 3

POMONA, Calif. - After Cal State Stanislaus secured an 11-8 win in the first half of Saturday's doubleheader to even the series, game No. 3 of the series was suspended because of rain.

In the later half of the doubleheader, Cal Poly Pomona baseball trailed the Warriors 2-0 in the bottom of the second inning but the Broncos had two runners on base with no outs. The two teams will resume that game on Sunday at 11 a.m. at Scolinos Field. For more information on the situation that'll be resume, access the @cppbroncos Live Stats.

Prior to Sunday's 11 a.m. action resuming, the Broncos will hold a Senior Day ceremony beginning at about 10:30 a.m. It'll be the final 2015 regular season home games for the CPP baseball program.

With the loss earlier on Saturday, the Broncos fall to 32-12 overall and 24-10 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) but remain in first place in the conference. The Warriors now stand at 15-19 in league action.

Despite collecting eight runs and eight hits offensively in the first game, CPP couldn't slow down the Stanislaus attack. After falling behind 7-1, the Broncos rallied to make it a 7-3 ballgame when Michael Erb and Jacob Bernardy scored in the sixth inning. The Warriors put the game out of reach later though as Marcus Mastrobuoni knocked a three-run homer over the left field fence.

CPP staged a four-run rally in the eighth but it proved to be too little and too late. In that rally, Christian Kelley and Matt Muñoz drove in one run apiece while Bernardy added a two-RBI hit. Wyatt Shackleford kept the Warriors' offense scoreless in the late stages, tossing 1.1 no-hit relief innings.
