Lancer Invite Results

RIVERSIDE, Calif. –
Giving a rest to many of its top runners, the nationally-ranked Cal Poly Pomona men's cross country team placed third on Friday at the Lancer Invitational.

Cal Baptist hosted the 8,000-meter event and the Broncos totaled 65 points as a team.

Sophomore Devon Reed crossed the line in 25:32.71 to finish as the top runner for CPP while taking sixth individually. Next for the Broncos was Kyle Miller, who raced to a time of 26:02.33 to place 11th overall.

Following closely behind was freshman Adrian Diaz at 26:12.73, good enough for the No. 14 spot. Another first-year runner, Thomas Backman, took 26th with a 27:19.87 mark. Rounding out the top five was Leo Corcoran, who placed 30th at 27:31.18.
Also competing for CPP was Brittan Reed, who finished 35th individually.

The Broncos will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 15 at the Pomona Pitzer Invitational in Claremont. That will mark the final regular season meet before CPP hosts the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Championships on Oct. 22.
