SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Competing in the Point Loma Invitational, the Cal Poly Pomona women's track and field team claimed a third-place finish in the team results on Saturday, totaling with 12 top five finishes in the meet.
In the field events,
Deirdre Mercado and
Melissa Chhem finished second and fourth respectively in the pole vault, both hitting a height of 3.19-meters.
Jenna Gonzales continued to be the top thrower for the Broncos, finishing second in the shot put with a distance of 11.88-meters and third in the discus with a toss of 35.80-meters.
On the track, the relay teams claimed third place in both the 4x100 and the 4x400-meter races.
Xjaedah Williams took fourth-place in the 200-meter sprint and finished third in the 100-meter hurdles while
Calene Morris (4:34.15) and
Casey Monoszlay (4:34.56) finished second and third respectively in the 1,500-meter run.
The Broncos next week will be at the Stanford Invitational on Friday, March, 31.
