LA JOLLA – The Cal Poly Pomona women's track & field team finished up a weekend of competition in La Jolla, competing at the Triton Invitational, hosted by UC San Diego.
Jenna Gonzales took second overall in the discus with a throw of 45.20 meters, hitting another provisional mark in the event after earning one at UCSD's Collegiate Open.
Scott Diamond finished sixth overall in the javelin, throwing a distance of 33.71 meters while
Anela Miki-Han took fourth in the shot put with a mark of 11.92 meters.
In the high jump,
Charisma Byrd earned second place, jumping a height of 1.57 meters, setting a personal best in the event.
On the track, the Cal Poly Pomona relay teams finished third in the 4x100-meter relay, running 48.40, while the 4x400-meter team took fourth overall with a time of 4:03.89.
Elizabeth Hernandez also set a personal best in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, finishing in second overall with a time of 11:27.48. Coming in sixth in the 100-meter hurdles was
Alisha Greenlaw, running 14.93 while
Anahi Betart finished the 1,500-meter run in seventh with a time of 4:46.61.
The Broncos will compete next Thursday, April 19 at the Mt. Sac Relays, hosting on the campus of Cerritos College, before compete at the Bryan Clay Invitational at Azusa Pacific on Friday, April 20.
