SPOKANE, Wash. – Junior
Ayana Fields sealed two top-10 finishes in the 400m and 60m events at the Spokane Invitational.
Fields improved on her personal best in the 60m as she sealed a third-place finish with a time of 7.50. In the 400m, Fields finished in second place with a time of 55.90.
Also competing in the 400m was sophomore
Jaelyn Thomas who improved on her personal best as she placed 13
th with a time of 59.24 and sophomore
Tianna Jardstrom who closed in 17
th place with a time of 59.77. Sophomore
Angelina Camello (1:02.92) and sophomore
Susie Fowler (1:05.07), who improved on her 400m best, rounded out the competitors for the Broncos with a 28
th and 34
th finish.
Junior
Keiana Turner sealed a fourth-place finish in the weighted throw with her new personal best of 16.89m (55'5"). Also competing in the weighted throw was freshman
Cynthia Hurtado (36'5.5") and junior
Shona Christensen (32'10.25").
Sophomore
Kelsey Ehinlaiye also competed in the 60m for a 13
th place finish as she improved on her personal best with a time of 7.88. Ehinlaiye held the top mark for CPP in the long jump placing 14
th at the meet with a distance of 17'11.5". Sophomore
Sarah Lindenthal jumped for a 16'3.75" distance and a 32nd place finish.
Turner placed 15
th in the shot put with a throw of 40'5.5". Right behind Turner was Christensen who threw 40'3.5" for 16
th place. Closing the shotput event for CPP was Hurtado who threw 25'11" for a 39
th place finish.
The next meet for the Broncos will be on Jan 21
st at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Collegiate Invitational.
