Fields Record Breaking Performance Earns Her National Athlete of the Week

NEW ORLEANS, La. – After placing second on the NCAA Division II all-time record book in the 200 meter, Ayana Fields had been selected USTFCCCA NCAA Division II National Athlete of the Week.
 
Fields is currently first place in the NCAA Division II rankings in the 200 meter, 10th in the 60 meter and 12th in the 400 meter, only three meets into the indoor season.
 
"Ayana has definitely earned this honor" said coach Chris Bradford. "She is dedicated, hardworking and passionate. We are very proud of her and excited to see what the rest of this season holds for her."
 
This is the first National Player of the Week selection in Broncos history during the indoor season. Last year, Fields was selected outdoor track and field National Player of the Week for her performance at the CCAA Championships.
 
The Broncos next meet is this Friday, February 3rd-4th, at the Mines Winter Classic in Colorado.
