Fields Takes Silver at NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships

Virginia Beach, Va. – After qualifying for the final round in the 200 meter event, Ayana Fields takes home silver and the 4x400 team placed 6th at the 2023 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
 
In the event, Fields crossed the line for a time of 23.36 only .10 seconds behind the first place finisher from Alexis Brown Lenoir-Rhyne, for her best finish at the NCAA Div. II Indoor Track and Field Championships.
 
After Fields earned her medal, CPP's 4x400 relay team of Jaelyn Thomas, Yuna Queniat, Arissa Hatcher and Fields took the track and placed sixth place with a time of 3:45.34.
 
With finishes in the Top 8, both Fields and the 4x400 team earn All-America honors. Fields scored her fifth-career Indoor All-America honors with this year's First Team All-American honors.
 
The Broncos return to their outdoor season Saturday, March 25th when they will compete in the Cougar Invitational in San Marcos.
