LOS ANGELES – An impressive javelin performance by
Tiffany Tate highlighted a strong effort from the Cal Poly Pomona women's track and field team at the Cal State L.A. Invite through Friday and Saturday.
Tate placed first overall, recording a personal-best distance of 132-11 to earn a "B" provisional mark.
Araya Dixon finished third in the 100-meter dash as she posted a 12.27 time.
Kendahl Gaines captured first place in her heat of the 400-meter dash, crossing the line in 58.56.
Continuing with the sprinting success, the CPP 4x400 relay placed fourth overall with a mark of 4:05.18. The relay team featured
Sarah Regan,
Isis Garland,
Olivia Lowe and
Erin Zwinger.
All-American
Jessica Giacoletti turned in a stellar performance in the high jump, taking third with a mark of 5-5.
Makayla Jacoub took fourth in the pole vault event, registering a height of 10-8.
This weekend marked the third regular season meet for CPP track and field. The Broncos will return to action on Saturday, March 14, with the Ben Brown Invite to be held at Cal State Fullerton. The complete meet schedule is
