POMONA, Calif. – Five members of the Cal Poly Pomona women's track and field team have received All-West Region honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, officials announced Monday.

The group of five Broncos includes two conference champions: Erin Zwinger and Tiffany Gray. The All-West Region list also featured Carissa English, Nina Pritchett and Sarah Regan.

Those five CPP student-athletes played a key role in helping the Broncos take second place at the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Championships earlier this month in San Francisco. It marked the program's best finish in more than a decade.

Zwinger stars in the heptathlon and recently recorded a personal best of 4,978 points for the program's best mark since 1989.

Gray excels in the shot put but has a wide range of throwing talents, having racked up 16 team points for CPP at the conference meet.

English placed third in the hammer throw at the CCAA Championships, recording a distance of 166-5.

Also among the group of elite Bronco throwers, Pritchett finished second in conference for the discus and third in the shot put.

Regan put together a tremendous performance in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing second after crossing the line in 62.66. She totaled 13 points through the conference meet.

The top five individuals in each event from each region earned the All-Region distinction, in addition to each of the members of the regions' top three relay teams.

On Tuesday, the final entry list for the NCAA Division II Track & Field National Championships will be announced. The CPP student-athletes that are selected will travel to Michigan to compete.
