ALLENDALE, Mich. - A pair of Cal Poly Pomona women's track and field student-athletes competed on day one of the NCAA Division II Track & Field National Championships Thursday.

The three-day event is being hosted by Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Mich. Broncos' senior Erin Zwinger started her heptathlon competition on Thursday morning and finished the first day of action with 2,580 points.

Zwinger collected her highest amount of points in the 200-meter dash as she crossed the line in 26.72 to earn 735 points. She also performed well in the high jump, clearing a 5-1 height to receive 678 points for that event.
