ALLENDALE, Mich. - Cal Poly Pomona senior
Erin Zwinger placed 18th overall in the heptathlon during day two of the NCAA Division II Track & Field National Championships. The three-day meet is hosted by Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Mich.
A Poway native, Zwinger totaled 4,337 points through the two days of the heptathlon. After finishing Thursday's action with a tremendous 735-point performance in the 200-meter event, Zwinger closed out Friday strong as well with 623-point showing in the 800-meter race.
Through her senior season in 2015, Zwinger's top heptathlon performance came at the Claremont Classic earlier in May when she collected 4,978 points. Zwinger also secured the conference heptathlon title in San Francisco to help the Broncos' women's track and field team place second overall.

Tiffany Gray will begin the shot put event at 8:15 a.m. Pacific and then Justin Ellerbee, Rodger Mantor and Austin Allen will compete in the pole vault at 9:30 a.m. Pacific before Huizar races in the 5,000-meter event at 2:25 p.m. Pacific.
