LOS ANGELES – The Cal Poly Pomona women's track and field team excelled Saturday at the Cal State L.A. Last Chance Meet and Oxy Invite.

Tiffany Gray registered a distance of 48-9 in the shot put, rising to No. 2 in the Broncos' record book for that event. That put her in first place at the Cal State L.A. Last Chance Meet. Also in the throws,
Tiffany Tate placed second in the javelin to improve her "B" provisional mark at 136.
Also improving a "B" provisional mark was
Lizette Huerta, who ran a 4:29.99 time in the 1,500 at the Oxy Invite.

Araya Dixon posted two first-place finishes on Saturday at Cal State L.A. She raced to a 24.93 time in the 200-meter, just missing a spot on the CPP all-time leaderboard. Dixon also placed first individually in the 100-meter dash, crossing the line in 12.26 to narrowly miss matching her season best.

Aariana Goshen reached a personal best in the long jump, recording a distance of 17-11 to place second individually.Â
