GREENWOOD, Ind. – Two Cal Poly Pomona Broncos were selected to the Academic All-District Team chosen by the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) for performances in the classroom and on the field.
 
Junior forward Paul Roger Henschke led the Broncos in points as he collected 17 points on the season tallying six goals and five assists. Henschke was a key component in CPP's drive to the post season as the Broncos closed the 2022 season in the Second Round of the NCAA Division II Men's Soccer tournament. In the classroom, Henschke earned a 3.68 grade point average as a Kinesiology major.
 
Senior forward Allyssa Larkin was selected for the second consecutive time to the Academic All-District Team. Larking led the team in points as she collected eight points on the season with three goals and two assists. After missing the playoffs in the 2021 season, the Broncos closed the season in the first round of the CCAA Tournament. In the classroom, Larkin maintained a 3.90 grade point average as an Electrical Engineering major.
 
To be nominated for such award, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games at the position listed on the nomination form.  The student-athlete must have also completed one full calendar year at his/her current institution and have reached sophomore athletic eligibility.  Once a student-athlete is nominated by the Sports Information Director (SID) at his/her current institution, SID's from around the country vote on the All-District and All-America ballots.
 
CoSIDA began the distinguished Academic All-America® program in 1952, and since then, has honored thousands of deserving student-athletes from numerous sports across all divisions with these elite Academic All-America® scholar-athlete honors.  The Division II and III Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2019-20 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
