Eight Broncos Selected All-CCAA

2022 All-CCAA Men's Soccer Team 

POMONA
– The Cal Poly Pomona Broncos earned three All-CCAA First Team selections, three All-CCAA Second Team selections, and two Honorable Mentions for their efforts in the 2022 season as announced by the CCAA on Wednesday.
 
Selected to All-CCAA First Team was sophomore defender, Cesar Ruvalcaba. Ruvalcaba started in 18 games on the season, playing for a total of 1,517 minutes.
 
Joining him on the All-CCAA First Team was junior midfielder Melvyn Perez Cortez. Cortez started in 15 games and collected 1024 minutes on the field. He tallied five assists on the season.
 
Closing the list of Broncos selected to the All-CCAA First Team, was junior forward Paul Roger Henschke. Henschke started in 14 games on the season, collecting six goals and five assists on the season. Henschke scored his first hat trick on October 14th against San Francisco State where CPP won 4-0.
 
In the All-CCA Second Team, senior forward Jerry Ramirez was selected. Ramirez started in 12 games and scored six goals and had two assists on the season. Also selected to All-CCAA Second Team was senior midfielder Oscar Griehsel Facey. Facey started in seven games, scoring two goals and collecting an assist. Closing the Broncos All-CCAA Second Team selections was sophomore goalkeeper CJ Walker. Walker started in 16 games on the season, tallying 34 saves and nine shutouts.
 
Sophomore midfielder Mike Moser and senior defender Pele Martinez were both selected All-CCAA honorable mention. Moser had eight starts, scored four goals and had three assists on the season. Martinez started in 16 games, collecting 1233 minutes and two goals.
 
The Broncos await their NCAA postseason fate as the 2022 NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Championship Tournament field will be announced via a live selection show at NCAA.com Monday November 7th at 3:30 pm.  CPP is now ranked at No. 6 in the West Region and will need to remain in the Top 10 in order to qualify for the NCAA tournament for the sixth consecutive year.
