NORTHRIDGE & REDLANDS, Calif. - With
Erin Zwinger earning a "B" provisional mark at the Cal State Northridge Multis, the Cal Poly Pomona women's track and field team also put together a strong performance at the Redlands Invitational on Friday.
The defending conference champion in the heptathlon, Zwinger set a new personal best on Friday with a total of 4,933 points. She continues to rank sixth on the CPP all-time leaderboard for that event.
A pair of Broncos moved into the program record book Friday.
Sarah Regan raced to a 62.07 mark in the 400-meter hurdles, placing first Friday and taking the sixth spot on the CPP leaderboard. For the 800-meter event,
Lizette Huerta raced to a time of 2:14.35 to place first overall in Redlands. That mark puts her at No. 9 Â in the Broncos' record book for that event.
Symone Booker shined in the 1,500-meter run, taking first with a time of 4:45.65. Another first-place performance came from
Tiffany Tate, who launched the javelin 128-9.
Carissa English narrowly missed her personal best in the hammer throw, recording a distance of 164-5 on Friday to take second overall. Last year she tallied a 164-8 mark, which ranks at No. 3 all-time in CPP history.
Mariah Richards-Maynard set a team best in the 100-meter hurdles, crossing the line in 14.90 to finish second.
Jessica Giacoletti matched her season-best height of 5-5 in the high jump, placing second in that event.
The Broncos will return to action on Saturday, March 28 with the Cal Poly SLO Invite.
