Cal Poly Pomona Athletics

Dr. V. Barney Annoshian ranks among the tops in contributions in both intercollegiate athletics and academics.

He joined the university in 1958 as a physical education professor and later coached tennis, baseball, football, junior varsity baseball, water polo and swimming.

He later became the head of the physical education department in 1962.

In June of 1986, Anooshian retired from Cal Poly Pomona after serving in the Department of Kinesiology & Health Promotion for 28 years. To honor Barney for his involvement in the Motor Development Clinic, a scholarship was established in his honor. To read more about the scholarship, click here.
