Scranton is one of only five Broncos to have earned All-American honors in men's basketball history. A 6-foot-5 center, Scranton was a three-time MVP and led the Broncos to their first Elite Eight appearance when they played at Evansville, Ind., in 1964.

He ranks second in career rebounds (935) and is one of only two players in the history of CPP basketball to have scored at least 1,000 points (1,040) and grabbed 900 rebounds, joining Larry Gordon.

Scranton played one season in the National Basketball Association (Boston Celtics -- 1966-67) and played in the American Basketball Association with the Anaheim Amigos before playing internationally in Japan, the Philippines, China and in Hong Kong.

He was a six-time member of CPP's Dean List and was named the Student of the Month for February 1966..

Scranton worked at CPP as a student adviser, sports analyst and teacher from 1972-75.
