Finch played three seasons of football at CPP, two partial seasons of basketball and competed in track and field for two years in a span from 1959-62. 

He was a small college All-American as a wide receiver and led the country wtih 41 receptions for 767 yards and eight touchdowns in 1961. 

Finch played two seasons in the National Football League.
